Hindi to Sindhi: translate the sentence, not just Devanagari
Choose the Sindhi writing system the reader needs
This Sindhi target uses the Perso-Arabic script, written from right to left. Sindhi also has Devanagari writing traditions, so a reader’s spoken fluency does not guarantee that they can read this output. Identify the script expected by the recipient before preparing a public notice or a reusable response.
Hindi पानी becomes Sindhi پاڻي, “water.” That is an ordinary vocabulary translation. A personal name may need transliteration or a conventional Sindhi spelling instead. Keep these decisions separate: replacing an everyday word by its target meaning and preserving a person’s identity are different tasks, even when both involve a change of script.
Sindhi may package a pronoun inside another form
Sindhi can attach personal-reference elements to nouns, verbs, and prepositional forms. A Hindi possessive or pronoun may therefore not remain an independent target word in the same position. A translation with fewer spaces can still preserve all the people and relationships in the source.
When checking a message, identify who performed the action, who received it, and who owns any item mentioned. Do not add repeated pronouns merely to match the Hindi word count. Conversely, do not overlook a suffix that changes the participant. Read the target as a complete construction rather than comparing only familiar dictionary nouns.
Respect needs a coherent Sindhi voice
Hindi आप and तुम mark different relationships. Sindhi has its own choices, including familiar تون and plural or respectful توهان. A polite source should not become a familiar target request simply because the shorter form is easier to recognise.
The verb and surrounding expressions should fit the selected address. A saved sentence may need review when it moves from a friend’s chat to an unfamiliar customer. Do not make the target unnecessarily ornate as a substitute for grammatical courtesy. The right voice depends on the people and situation, not a rule that Sindhi must sound more formal than Hindi.
Preserve letters that represent Sindhi sound distinctions
Sindhi uses letters such as ٻ that differ from familiar Arabic or Urdu forms. ٻار means “child,” corresponding in an ordinary Hindi context to बच्चा. The extra dots and shapes are meaningful spelling, not optional decoration. Keep them intact when copying the output or representing a name.
For practical messages, check dates, quantities, names, and reference strings separately from sentence fluency. A Latin booking code retains its original character order inside right-to-left Sindhi. Inspect the final message in the destination application rather than reversing identifiers to make their appearance match the paragraph. An established Sindhi spelling for a person or place is more useful than a new approximation when the reader must search for an existing record.
