Mexican Spanish to Thai: no alcancé a hacerlo may concern missing the available time
Reaching a deadline differs from reaching a shelf
No alcancé a terminar antes de las seis explains that the speaker failed to finish within the available time. The Mexican dictionary records alcanzar a plus an infinitive for managing to do something, often despite difficulty. Thai needs the intended success or timing relationship rather than a literal physical reaching action.
The Foreign Service Institute Thai course distinguishes เสร็จ, sèt, for finishing an activity from ทัน, than, for accomplishing something in time or catching up. These resources help separate two questions: whether a task reached completion, and whether it did so before the relevant deadline. Mexican alcanzar does not settle both by itself.
Finished late is different from unfinished
Compare Terminé, pero no alcancé a entregarlo hoy with No alcancé a terminarlo hoy. The first says the work was completed but today’s delivery opportunity was missed. The second leaves completion unachieved within today. A Thai translation that treats both as simply unfinished would erase the completed work in the first statement.
Likewise, No alcancé el camión can concern missing a departing vehicle. It does not say that the person was physically too short to touch it. The dictionary separately records catching someone or arriving before a person leaves. A travel update should preserve the missed departure rather than transform it into a problem of height.
The Thai course gives an example of failing to arrive at school in time. Its timing construction illustrates why an arrival can occur but still be late. Thus Llegué, pero no a tiempo must not become No llegué: the first confirms presence after the deadline; the second denies the arrival itself.
Not every alcanzar describes a clock
No alcanzo a leer la letra can mean that the speaker cannot make out the writing. Without a deadline in the context, a Thai rendering should not invent time pressure. The difficulty may concern visibility or legibility, while the Mexican verb retains its broader sense of managing an action.
El dinero no alcanza describes insufficient resources, another sense recorded in the dictionary. It does not mean that money missed a bus or failed to finish a task. The target must express sufficiency in that financial situation rather than reuse a timing construction selected for the previous travel example.
In Alcancé a enviar el archivo, pero no a revisar el mensaje, two actions have different outcomes: sending succeeded and reviewing did not. A useful Thai rendering keeps the successful action separate from the missed one. If a time limit is stated, retain it with the relevant event; if the source only reports difficulty or opportunity, avoid adding a precise deadline. That preserves what the speaker actually managed rather than making every occurrence of alcanzar a story about physical reach or lateness.
