Recovering number and respect when a Bhojpuri message becomes English
First establish whether हम means one speaker
Bhojpuri हम can mean I. Do not translate it as we solely because the same written form is familiar from Hindi. A first-person singular statement and a statement made for a group can assign responsibility differently, so this is more than a small stylistic choice.
In a personal acknowledgment, ‘हम’ may need English ‘I’, while ‘हमनी’ can indicate ‘we’. The verb and the surrounding exchange help establish the intended reference. A customer should be able to tell whether one writer confirms an action or whether a team is making a collective commitment. If the source identifies that distinction, keep it visible in English; if the fragment is genuinely unclear, include the preceding sentence before deciding.
Respectful grammar does not automatically mean several people
Bhojpuri marks social relationships through pronouns and verbal forms. Respectful agreement can therefore look different from an ordinary singular form even when only one person is being addressed. English you usually leaves the familiar/respectful distinction unstated rather than using a separate polite pronoun.
‘रउआ’ can be English ‘you’ in a respectful exchange. Do not turn it into a plural audience or add a new official title just to account for the source’s courtesy. Where a name or position actually identifies the recipient, preserve it. Where respect is grammatical, use natural English request or acknowledgment wording appropriate to the sentence’s purpose.
Read postpositions with the words they relate
Bhojpuri can place a case-related word after a noun phrase where English needs a preposition before it, an object in a particular position or another construction. The same visible marker can have different functions according to the phrase and verb. A mechanical list of English equivalents will not recover all the relationships.
In a delivery message, identify who sends, what is sent and who receives it before polishing English order. A person mentioned next to the object is not automatically the sender. If the source has omitted a participant because the conversation already establishes them, recover that participant from the exchange rather than inserting the nearest plausible name.
Choose English articles from the reference, not a fixed word table
The Bhojpuri form ‘एगो’ can express one and contribute an indefinite meaning. English may need a, an or one depending on whether the sentence introduces an item or emphasizes its quantity. Do not make every such occurrence an emphatic numerical statement if the writer is simply mentioning an item.
A later reference to that same identified item may instead need the in English even when the source does not provide a separate word in the same position. Keep enough of the conversation to distinguish introducing a document from referring back to the particular document already discussed. This is especially useful in requests where any suitable item and one previously identified item would lead the recipient to different actions. Read the noun reference together with number and respectful agreement, while remembering that Bhojpuri’s familiar Devanagari forms have grammatical values of their own.
