Bhojpuri to Azerbaijani: ownership and respectful address need a complete phrase

A respectful source pronoun does not finish the target question

Thakur Lohar’s Bhojpuri description lists respectful singular रउआ and a corresponding possessive form राउर. Azerbaijani also distinguishes familiar and respectful address, but the target question must express that choice through its own pronouns and endings. Translating the source respectful word alone does not guarantee a coherent target construction.

The Peace Corps lesson contrasts Sənin adın nədir? with Sizin adınız nədir? in familiar and formal name questions. The change reaches the expression about the addressee’s name, not just the first word. For a Bhojpuri registration enquiry, determine the intended reader and relationship, then review the entire Azerbaijani name phrase. A formal opening followed by a mismatched possessive form can change the interaction.

Read Bhojpuri first-person number without borrowing Hindi assumptions

The cited Bara-Parsa grammar lists हम as singular and हमनी among plural first-person forms. A translator who assumes that every हम means several people can choose Azerbaijani biz where an individual speaker is meant. The target’s mən-versus-biz distinction therefore depends on correctly reading the actual source variety.

This is consequential when a Bhojpuri applicant provides personal details. An individual’s statement should not become an organization’s statement merely because a familiar-looking pronoun was interpreted through another language. Conversely, a source group statement needs to remain plural even if only one representative writes it. Resolve that source reference before evaluating the Azerbaijani person endings.

A profession can carry the target predication in its ending

The Bhojpuri grammar illustrates first-person descriptions with बानी, while the Azerbaijani manual illustrates Mən həkiməm for a speaker identifying as a doctor. The target can encode personal predication through an ending on the descriptive noun. A separate source copular form therefore need not receive a separate Azerbaijani word in the same position.

For a Bhojpuri self-introduction, distinguish the occupation from the personal information supplied by the construction. Translating the professional noun correctly is only part of the task. The target ending must continue to describe the speaker, not the addressee or somebody else mentioned nearby. A visually compact Azerbaijani predicate can still retain all the source information when built appropriately.

Grammatical gender must not be invented from a source example

Thakur Lohar contrasts first-person descriptions containing बेटा and बेटी with the same बानी form in the constructions illustrated. The difference lies in the relationship noun, not a different copula in those examples. Azerbaijani third-person o likewise does not reproduce a male-versus-female pronoun contrast in the Peace Corps introduction materials.

Preserve an explicitly stated son, daughter or other relationship without assuming that every related grammatical element needs a gendered counterpart. The source evidence here is regional and construction-specific; it does not justify a blanket claim that all Bhojpuri forms behave identically. In this direction, the strongest distinctions are actual speaker number, the respect level of the addressee, ownership inside the name phrase and person encoded in the predicate. These can be retained while Azerbaijani packages the information differently.
