Bulgarian to Central Kurdish: participant information can move inside words

A short target form can contain a whole Bulgarian relationship

Bulgarian often expresses the participants in giving through separate nouns, prepositional phrases and short pronouns. Central Kurdish, or Sorani, can distribute person information through attached markers whose position depends on the construction. A translation cannot be assessed simply by counting how many separate target pronouns correspond to the Bulgarian sentence.

Ahmadi’s morphological study illustrates kitêbeket pê dedem and kitêbeket dedemê as constructions involving giving the book to the addressee. The recipient information is not represented in exactly the same place in both. For a Bulgarian message about handing over a document, first establish the item and recipient, then inspect the Sorani construction as a whole. An attached marker must not be ignored merely because it is not a separate printed word.

Bulgarian clitic position is not a Sorani placement rule

Bulgarian short pronouns have their own syntactic behavior, including clitic doubling. That familiarity can be deceptive: a Bulgarian reader may recognize that a small target element concerns a participant but still assign it to the wrong word or grammatical role. Ahmadi describes Sorani person markers appearing in different positions depending on tense, transitivity and other elements.

This means an edit to a Bulgarian source sentence can require more than changing the Sorani lexical verb while leaving every attached form untouched. If the message changes the actor, object or event construction, the target marker pattern needs reassessment. A visually small ending can carry the distinction between something the writer gives and something the reader gives. Its grammatical importance is not measured by its length.

A word family does not guarantee an unchanged action

The same research distinguishes xwardin and xwardinewe in its treatment of eating and drinking. Their relationship in the morphological analysis does not make them interchangeable for the source action. Bulgarian ям and пия name different activities, so selecting a similar-looking Sorani form solely because its root is familiar can change what someone is doing.

For a Bulgarian meal message, establish the action before resolving time or person endings. A target can encode the correct speaker and apparent tense while choosing the wrong member of a lexical family. The example also cautions against treating every recurring segment as a simple one-word translation of a Bulgarian prefix or adverb; morphology can participate in lexical meaning rather than only modify an otherwise unchanged action.

Use Sorani grammar rather than importing Kurmanji endings

Bulgarian marks grammatical gender in three categories. Sorani does not reproduce that agreement system, and it also differs from Northern Kurdish in its gender morphology. Choosing Central Kurdish therefore requires more than a script conversion of a Northern Kurdish draft. The target’s own person-marking constructions determine how the participants are represented.

In this direction, the critical distinction is between lexical action and participant encoding. Establish whether the Bulgarian sentence concerns giving, eating, drinking or another event, then trace the same actor and affected participant through the Sorani form. The research’s Latin transcription is used here to expose those constructions; it is not a recommendation to replace the normal script expected by the intended Central Kurdish reader.
