Belarusian to Inuktitut in Latin script: read both participants in the ending

Seeing you is different from being seen by you

A Belarusian sentence can identify the person acting and the person affected through separate pronouns and case forms. Inuktitut can identify both within a single verbal ending. This is the first thing to inspect when translating a short personal message: a recognizable action root does not establish who acts on whom.

Pirurvik’s Tusaalanga contrasts takugikkit, I see you, with takuginnga, you see me. The main action is shared, but its direction reverses. For a Belarusian-to-Inuktitut message about meeting, seeing or helping someone, compare the actor and recipient before deciding that similar-looking target words mean the same thing.

The teaching page also distinguishes a simple ending identifying only the subject from a transitive ending identifying both participants. If the Belarusian source names a specific object, do not accept a target merely because it says that somebody sees. Check whether the relationship to the intended object survives in the actual construction.

A word may contain an entire instruction

Tusaalanga describes Inuktitut words as roots followed by affixes and grammatical endings. Belarusian has inflection too, but the amount of sentence information carried inside one target word can be much greater. A Belarusian phrase containing several separate words may consequently become a long Inuktitut form without becoming a list of unrelated meanings.

Do not insert spaces into that form to imitate the Belarusian phrase. The target pieces are not freely movable words. In particular, an ending that identifies a participant belongs to the target construction; detaching it can remove the connection that tells the reader who performs or receives the action.

When changing a translated sentence from I to you, regenerate or review the complete target predicate. Swapping a separate pronoun alone is not a reliable edit when person information is encoded in its ending. Retain the original Belarusian sentence beside the result until both participants have been checked.

Latin writing has its own sound values

This target uses Inuktitut Roman orthography, rather than syllabics. Pirurvik describes its three vowel letters a, i and u and the importance of doubled vowels and consonants. A Belarusian reader should not shorten doubled letters as if they were typing mistakes; the spelling records a pronunciation distinction.

The Roman letter j is pronounced like English y in the cited guide. Do not assign letters the sound values of an improvised Belarusian transliteration. The Latin output is Inuktitut writing with its own conventions, not a pronunciation respelling designed around Cyrillic.

Save enough to preserve the grammatical relationship

A useful saved example for this pair includes the whole target predicate and the source meaning, especially its actor and object. A detached root is insufficient evidence for translating the next message. Two expressions can share the same action while reporting opposite directions between the same people.

Before copying a Belarusian-to-Inuktitut Latin result, check participant order and every doubled letter. These two checks address different risks: one protects who does what, and the other preserves the actual written word that the reader will interpret.
