Belarusian personal statements in Bangla

Do not look for a matching gendered past ending

Belarusian singular past verbs can mark the subject’s gender. The source distinction between masculine and feminine forms belongs to Belarusian agreement. Bangla does not reproduce that system as a corresponding male-versus-female past-tense ending.

Marchant’s paradigm gives “жыў” and “жыла”, lived, as masculine and feminine forms. In a first-person message, they can provide information about the speaker while both still describe living somewhere. The Bangla translation must preserve the event and speaker without inventing a parallel gender suffix.

If the Belarusian source explicitly identifies a person as a mother, father or another gender-specific relation, that lexical information remains meaningful. Separating lexical identity from grammatical agreement avoids the opposite mistake of discarding a stated relationship merely because target verbs do not use the same gender pattern.

For a short personal history, read the source subject and past verb together. Then check who the Bangla clause refers to and what happened. A missing counterpart to one source ending is not automatically an omission.

Participant number may be clearer in the pronoun than the verb

The government-supported Accessible Dictionary gives “আমি” for I and “আমরা” for we. These target pronouns distinguish an individual speaker from a group. They provide a useful check when translating Belarusian я and мы in a brief report.

Universal Dependencies describes Bangla finite verbs as reflecting person but not cross-referencing subject number in the way a reader may expect from Belarusian agreement. A target verb alone therefore may not reveal whether the speaker means I or we.

This matters for a message about attending, paying or completing work. An individual commitment and a group commitment can involve the same activity yet assign responsibility differently. Preserve the source participant count through the complete target expression.

The respectful “আপনি” also needs to fit the person being addressed. A familiar source request should not be turned into a relationship the exchange does not support, while a customer message should not be checked solely by whether the action verb is recognisable.

Rebuild cases and predicates as complete Bangla constructions

Belarusian nouns can distinguish several case roles through endings. Bangla has its own case resources, and the grammar reference notes that an objective form can occur where another language would call for a dative. A source recipient ending does not determine a target form by label alone.

For a Belarusian instruction about sending a document, identify the sender, document and recipient before checking the Bangla phrase. A grammatical target noun can still be attached to the wrong participant relationship.

The grammar’s “শেষ করা”, finish, illustrates a light-verb expression rather than an instruction to translate each visible component as an independent source action. A target with more written words may express one source event.

Keep that event reading through the whole clause. The source may say work was finished, is being finished or needs finishing. Recognising the Bangla expression for finish does not establish that the translation preserved the original time and assertion.
