Azerbaijani to Sesotho sa Leboa: matching people with their belongings
A noun change can require agreement changes elsewhere
Azerbaijani nouns do not belong to a grammatical gender system. Sesotho sa Leboa uses noun classes that affect agreement with other elements of the sentence. These classes are not simply a division between male and female people, and their effects extend beyond the visible noun prefix.
The Unisa introductory course illustrates different singular and plural patterns: seatla means hand and diatla means hands, while letsogo means arm and matsogo means arms. There is no single Azerbaijani-style plural ending to attach to every target noun. Learn or check the singular and plural as related forms.
For a clothing description, distinguish an item intended for one hand from items intended for both hands. If the Azerbaijani source changes its counted body part, translate the complete description again. Replacing only a prominent noun in a saved Sesotho sa Leboa phrase can leave other words referring to the earlier noun class.
A small possessive link identifies a relationship
Sesotho sa Leboa possession uses concords associated with noun classes. The North-West University grammatical resource distinguishes these possessive links from the possessive pronoun that follows. A short connecting form is therefore not disposable punctuation between an item and its owner.
Azerbaijani can combine ownership and other relationships in suffixes attached to a noun. Do not expect the target to have the same written boundaries. A possession that appears compactly in Azerbaijani may need several separate written elements in Sesotho sa Leboa.
Suppose an Azerbaijani collection note concerns children’s clothing, but a revision changes the item to their schoolbooks. The children remain the owners; the owned noun changes. Check the entire possession phrase instead of assuming that an unchanged owner means every linking form must remain unchanged too.
When several families are involved, identify whose belongings are in each parcel. A noun-class link supplies grammar, but it cannot tell the translator which family you intended if the source merely says their things after mentioning several possible owners.
Spaces do not separate all the meaning of a verb
Sesotho sa Leboa commonly writes parts of a verbal construction separately. The university resource explains that several orthographic units can together form one linguistic verb. Judging a target sentence by how many words match the Azerbaijani verb will consequently give a misleading picture.
Keep these short forms when copying a collection instruction. Some indicate the subject or object through agreement; removing one because the main verb stem remains readable can alter the reference. Conversely, a separately written element is not necessarily an extra person introduced into the message.
Check a belongings message in two passes: first establish the owner and the exact items, then identify who must collect or return them. If a person becomes a group, or one item becomes several, regenerate the relevant sentence. This lets noun forms, possession links, and verbal agreement change together while preserving the actual handover.
