Azerbaijani respectful requests and Catalan grammatical person
Respectful you can take third-person agreement
Azerbaijani siz can address a person respectfully or identify several listeners. Catalan “vostè” is a courteous singular form that takes third-person singular verbal agreement. The source and target can therefore preserve the same social relationship while using different grammatical person patterns.
The IEC grammar explicitly describes this agreement. A target third-person verb beside the courteous form does not mean that the request has stopped addressing the listener. Do not automatically replace it with a familiar second-person verb to imitate the source paradigm.
For an Azerbaijani inquiry to one official, establish the single recipient before checking the target. A genuine source group requires its own plural treatment, independently of the respectful tone. Count the people from the message rather than from the visual resemblance of a polite pronoun.
Another respectful form has another agreement pattern
Catalan “vós” represents another address choice with its own grammatical behaviour and usage. Its relationship to the predicate differs from the vostè construction. The presence of respect does not make the two target pronouns freely interchangeable inside an otherwise unchanged sentence.
Azerbaijani provides no instruction to switch between these target traditions merely because siz appears. Consider the intended readership and keep one suitable address pattern consistent across the request. A polite salutation does not repair mismatched forms later in the clause.
The contrast also prevents a familiar source sən from being interpreted solely as an absence of respect. Source familiarity can express closeness in an established relationship. Preserve the intended voice through the whole Catalan message rather than assign a social judgment to one isolated pronoun.
A source case ending can become a contracted target phrase
Catalan “al” combines a preposition with the masculine singular article, and “del” combines another preposition with that article. These contractions illustrate target phrase structure, not one-word equivalents of every Azerbaijani dative or genitive ending.
In a source request to send a document to an office, distinguish the destination from the document’s owner and origin. Azerbaijani case and possession constructions supply those roles, while Catalan assembles them through its own preposition and article choices.
The IEC rules also describe environments where the article instead involves apostrophisation. A saved contraction should therefore not be inserted before every target noun regardless of its form. Check the full destination or possessive phrase.
Reference must remain clear across the polite exchange
Azerbaijani third-person o does not distinguish male from female. Catalan pronouns and agreeing noun phrases can require distinctions that the detached source form does not settle. Use an existing source name or role to recover the intended person where possible.
The official being addressed may differ from the colleague whose document is mentioned. Courtesy agreement must not merge the recipient with that third person. Keep the source owner, recipient and intended destination separate.
For this direction, review the chosen Catalan address tradition, its verbal agreement and the contracted phrases around locations or possessions. Those checks preserve the Azerbaijani request without assuming that respectful pronouns and case endings have identical target counterparts.
