Arabic to Portuguese for Portugal: arranging a viewing and asking about rent
Keep a housing enquiry tied to the right property
When writing to someone about a flat in Portugal, select Portuguese (Portugal) and include the listing reference. A short Arabic enquiry may depend on a photo or an earlier voice message for its meaning. Put the property, proposed day, and purpose of the visit into the text if the recipient will only receive the translation.
The Portuguese noun renda can mean the regular payment for renting a home or property. In a housing conversation, distinguish that payment from a separate charge or deposit by describing what each amount is for. Do not make one Arabic word for a payment carry every financial detail. This is a way to make an enquiry clear, not a substitute for reading the actual agreement.
Choose an address style instead of translating “you” mechanically
Arabic distinguishes masculine and feminine addressees, while Portuguese choices also express social relationships. A direct substitution of أنت with você does not settle how to address an unfamiliar property owner. In Portugal, treatment can involve a name or title and a third-person verb; the explicit pronoun is not the only available strategy.
Explain in your source context that this is a courteous enquiry to someone you have not met. Keep one consistent style throughout the translated message. If the person replies using a particular form of address, preserve that context when preparing the next response rather than changing only the first pronoun in a saved sentence.
The grammatical third person in a courteous Portuguese question can still refer to the person being addressed. Do not assume that every third-person verb means the message has started discussing an absent owner. Check the intended participant across the complete question.
Separate an arrangement from something happening now
In European Portuguese, estar a followed by an infinitive commonly presents an action as ongoing. A message containing that construction may therefore report current activity rather than promise a future visit. Brazilian Portuguese often uses a gerund for comparable ongoing meaning, so a difference in form alone is not evidence of a mistranslation.
An Arabic imperfective form can occur in messages about current or future activity. Add the actual appointment date and time when arranging a viewing, and say whether you are requesting the appointment or confirming an agreed one. “I am looking for a flat” and “I will visit this flat on Tuesday” have different jobs even though both belong to the same conversation.
Preserve the contact details and the remaining questions
For a mobile contact number, telemóvel is the Portugal-specific word recorded by Priberam, with celular as its Brazilian counterpart. Keep the number itself unchanged, including the country code if needed. A regional vocabulary difference should not distract from checking that the recipient can actually contact you.
Before sending the enquiry, read it as four separate facts: which property, which proposed time, which recurring payment, and which questions remain unanswered. Keep the original street name beside any explanation in Arabic. Save the eventual confirmed viewing message separately from your initial request, so an unaccepted proposal is not later reused as though the appointment already exists.
