Arabic to Kyrgyz: respectful address is separate from masculine and feminine reference

Choose the relationship behind the greeting

Standard Arabic distinguishes masculine and feminine singular address. Kyrgyz familiar and respectful forms make a different choice: how the speaker relates to the recipient. A source greeting addressed to a woman does not automatically select a different Kyrgyz politeness level from one addressed to a man. Establish the setting and existing relationship before accepting a reusable opening.

The Peace Corps lessons contrast Кандайсың? in familiar address with Кандайсыз? in polite address. The change is not a male-female alternative. Саламатсызбы? is also taught as a polite greeting usable at different times of day. An Arabic morning greeting can therefore have an appropriate target opening without a separate Kyrgyz word identifying the morning; preserve a time reference separately if it conveys actual appointment information.

For a message that begins courteously and then asks for a document, keep the relationship consistent through the request. A formal-looking greeting does not settle the grammar of every following sentence. When adapting a family exchange into a customer message, translate the revised clause as a whole rather than keeping all familiar forms after a new opening.

A Kyrgyz pronoun does not reproduce every Arabic gender distinction

Arabic can distinguish هو and هي for masculine and feminine reference. Kyrgyz ал can refer to either a male or female person. If an Arabic paragraph alternates between a man and a woman, the source pronouns may provide distinctions that the Kyrgyz pronoun alone does not display.

Follow each participant's action rather than requiring a separate target pronoun spelling for every Arabic contrast. Retain a name where it is needed to identify who sent a file or who will attend. Do not add unnecessary descriptions of gender to every sentence, and do not assume an unchanged pronoun means several people. Standard Arabic dual reference also needs its exact quantity preserved when two people are involved.

Introductions need a complete relationship, not only a name

Kyrgyz uses endings in constructions that Arabic may organize differently. The introductory expression Менин атым identifies my name, with the surrounding phrase doing grammatical work. Translating an Arabic form heading for name is a different task from translating a spoken introduction. Decide which function is intended before judging a compact output.

For an introduction written on somebody else's behalf, keep that person's perspective clear. The person entering the Arabic text may not be the person being introduced. A shift from my name to her name should preserve the intended referent, even if the target does not repeat the Arabic gender contrast. Keep established document spellings available separately when the recipient must match a reservation.

Preserve the Kyrgyz alphabet when copying from right-to-left text

Kyrgyz Cyrillic includes ң, ө, and ү. Keep these as actual letters rather than replacing them with similar-looking characters. Arabic-to-Cyrillic translation also changes the paragraph direction, while Latin identifiers and digit strings still need their original sequence. Inspect the copied result in its destination application. A useful final review checks the recipient relationship, the person behind each action, and the name or code the reader needs to identify.
