Arabic conversational participants in Bhojpuri

The speaker may say ham while referring to one person

The Bhojpuri pronoun “हम” can identify a singular speaker. Arabic أنا and نحن distinguish I from we, so a translator must not infer a group solely because the target form resembles a plural in another familiar language. The source determines whether one speaker or several people are represented.

The Bhojpuri plural form “हमनी” provides a contrasting illustration in the grammar consulted. A source message reporting the sender’s own arrival and a message reporting a family’s arrival should preserve their different participant counts. The noun naming the family does not need to be invented when only the sender is mentioned, and a group should not disappear merely because a first-person target form is short.

These examples concern the variety documented in the source grammar. Bhojpuri has regional variation, so a single pronoun table should not be presented as the only form used by all speakers. Establish the intended regional readership when adapting a conversational message, especially if it will become a frequently reused personal reply.

An Arabic gender contrast does not select target honorificity

Standard Arabic singular address distinguishes masculine and feminine forms. Bhojpuri address choices can instead distinguish degrees of familiarity and respect. “रउआ” is documented as an honorific second-person form, while “तू” occurs in other relationships. These are not male and female equivalents of the same Arabic pronoun.

A courteous message to an older person therefore needs a target social relationship, not a gender-based substitution. Research on Bhojpuri address also describes vocative forms and their pragmatic effect. A literal Arabic vocative or title cannot always be copied as a neutral call to the listener; the resulting address should perform the intended respectful or familiar action.

The target predicate can participate in this relationship too. A changed pronoun alone does not establish consistent honorific wording. Conversely, honorificity is not a claim that several listeners are present. Keep headcount, listener gender and the degree of respect as separate pieces of the source situation before assembling the target clause.

Attached Arabic reference becomes a target construction

Arabic can attach pronominal material to nouns, prepositions and verbs. Bhojpuri uses its own pronoun forms, case marking and postpositions. A source attached object or possessor should not be represented by simply pasting the nominative target pronoun next to the preceding word.

First decide whether the participant owns something, receives something or is affected by an action. Those relationships may involve different target forms even when the same person is involved. An Arabic suffix referring to the listener in a phrase about their house and a suffix referring to them as the object of a verb do not automatically have one target replacement.

Bhojpuri commonly places postpositional material after the associated phrase and usually has verb-final clause organisation. Standard Arabic allows different clause patterns. Preserve the participant relationships while rebuilding their target arrangement, rather than retaining Arabic order and hoping the surrounding words clarify it.

Devanagari output still needs Bhojpuri grammar

The requested target uses Devanagari in these examples. A Hindi-looking word sequence is not sufficient evidence that an Arabic message has been translated into Bhojpuri. The pronoun and agreement choices discussed here need to belong to the intended Bhojpuri construction. Script conversion, regional word selection and grammatical translation are connected tasks, but none replaces the others.
