Amharic to Macedonian: identify the intended actor and the particular object

Who performs the action after a wish or request?

An Amharic sentence about wanting somebody to do something must preserve two roles: the person who wants the action and the person expected to perform it. Macedonian uses да with a finite verb in many constructions where another language uses an infinitive or a differently formed complement. The verb after да helps identify the actor. Do not select its form merely to match the subject of the first verb.

Сакам да читам expresses a wish to read with the speaker as reader. It is a useful illustration of one actor continuing across the construction. An Amharic message asking for another person's action is a different relationship. If a coordinator wants a colleague to review a document, the translation must not say that the coordinator personally wants to read it. Make the colleague's role clear in the source when a short fragment has lost that context.

This matters when reusing a saved instruction. Changing the recipient's name can also change which person the subordinate action refers to. Review the full request rather than treating the words after да as a fixed label for an activity. An understandable activity word is not sufficient if the wrong person has been assigned to carry it out.

Definiteness and physical proximity are different decisions

Amharic and Macedonian can both express definiteness through attached material, but their systems do not correspond ending for ending. Macedonian has a three-part article distinction involving neutral, proximal, and distal reference. A source identifying a known document does not necessarily locate it near the speaker or farther away. Preserve a real pointing contrast when the Amharic message supplies one; otherwise, do not add a physical arrangement simply because the target grammar can express it.

Imagine an Amharic instruction about collecting an already discussed parcel. First establish which parcel the recipient should collect. If there are two parcels and the source explicitly contrasts their locations, that contrast should survive. If the writer only means the known parcel, an added nearby-versus-distant implication can misdirect the collector. Compare the complete noun phrase with the source reference, rather than accepting any attached Macedonian article as equivalent to an Amharic definite form.

Short object forms can make the Macedonian sentence more complete

Macedonian can use a short object pronoun together with a definite object phrase. In Ја читам книгата, the short ја and the book expression refer to the same object within the construction. They do not mean that two books are being read. An Amharic reader should therefore check the grammatical relationship before deleting an apparently repeated reference.

Amharic also packages participant information into verbs, but that similarity does not license moving Macedonian short forms into Amharic word order. Keep the target clause intact while checking who acts and which object is involved. Preserve Macedonian Cyrillic, including ј and ќ where required, when copying the final message. For a practical review, ask the recipient to identify the assigned task and the particular document or parcel. If those differ from the Amharic source, revise the relevant relationship rather than simply retranslating an isolated noun.
