Afrikaans to Burmese: courtesy and ability need the whole final construction
U does not specify the speaker’s polite ending
Afrikaans u tells you something about respectful address, but Burmese politeness can also depend on who is speaking. The university lesson distinguishes final ခင်ဗျာ and ရှင် as conventional male-speaker and female-speaker forms. They should not be chosen simply from the recipient’s gender or from the presence of u in the Afrikaans source.
If you prepare a message for another person to send, establish that speaker before reviewing the Burmese wording. A greeting that is polite for one sender should not be reused automatically for another without checking its final forms. Respect toward the listener and conventions about the speaker are connected, but they are not the same piece of information.
Wees can receive a different target construction
The lesson’s ကျွန်တော် ဆရာပါ expresses I am a teacher and includes polite ပါ. Afrikaans ek is introduces the same kind of personal statement through its own copular order. The target need not reproduce a separate word matching every source component in the same sequence.
For an introduction, decide whether the source identifies a role or describes an action. Do not take a target form learned for I am a teacher and insert it unchanged into an ongoing activity because both Afrikaans sentences contain is. Translate the complete predicate so the Burmese construction matches what is actually being asserted.
Kan is not a prefix to insert before every target verb
The Burmese lesson gives verb-following နိုင် for ability and ချင် for wanting an action, while နေ occurs with ongoing action. Afrikaans modal material such as kan and wil is arranged through a different clause system. A word-for-word placement of those meanings can therefore produce an unsuitable target sequence.
The documented question ဘယ်သူ လာချင်သလဲ asks who wants to come. The wanting meaning belongs with the verb construction. If an Afrikaans source changes from who comes to who wants to come, regenerate the entire question instead of adding a detached target word at the position occupied by wil.
A relationship can follow its reference
The lesson identifies နဲ့ as with after the person expression in its examples. Afrikaans normally places met before its complement, so a request to meet with someone needs the target relationship rebuilt rather than copied in source order. Keep the intended companion or recipient explicit when the sentence contains several people.
For a final check, compare speaker politeness, role identification, ability or wish, and participant relationships with the Afrikaans original. Preserve Burmese characters and the ending mark ။ when copying. The target’s final material can carry information that the source places earlier, so a complete clause review is more reliable than testing whether every Afrikaans word has a separate counterpart nearby.
